How Well Do We Know Each Other? The Game That Tests Your Friendships

Everybody thinks they know their friends. Then someone asks what your best friend would really order at a restaurant and the table goes quiet. How Well Do We Know Each Other? turns that uncomfortable silence into the best game of the night.

How the Game Works

One player is in the hot seat. They get a question about themselves with four options and pick their honest answer in secret. Then the phone goes round and everyone else guesses, in private, what that player picked. When all the guesses are in, the answer is revealed and every right guess scores a point. Everyone gets a turn in the hot seat. It plays with 3 to 10 players and is free in Cluso.

Setting Up

Add your players, then choose how many times each person is asked about — one, two or three rounds each. That's all the setup there is. If a question doesn't fit, the player in the hot seat can ask for something else before answering. At the end, the game crowns whoever knows everyone best, and it doesn't hide who was the most mysterious.

Tips for the Hot Seat

Answer what you'd really do, not what sounds good. The game only works if your answer is honest, and the temptation to pick the cool option is real. Remember that nobody sees your pick until the reveal. If you catch yourself choosing the answer you wish were true, go back and choose the one that is.

Tips for Guessers

Think about what the person actually does, not what they say they do. The friend who claims to love hiking but hasn't left the sofa in months? Guess the sofa. Keep your screen to yourself while you guess, and resist looking at other people's faces for clues. And when the whole table guesses wrong, don't just move on — ask for the story behind the answer. Wrong guesses are the fun part.

Perfect for Couples and Old Friends

This is the ideal game for double dates, reunions and long-running friend groups. Couples discover they don't know each other quite as well as they claimed, old friends get to show off years of inside knowledge, and new friends skip months of small talk in a single round. A house rule worth trying: partners or best friends score double when they guess each other.

Why It Works at Parties

Everyone gets a turn in the spotlight, and everyone plays on every turn, so nobody is left waiting. The reveal is instant drama: one friend nails it, another is wildly off, and the person in the hot seat gets to explain. It rewards paying attention to the people you love — which, it turns out, is a very satisfying thing to win at.

Nothing settles the ‘I know you better than anyone’ argument like a scoreboard. Open How Well Do We Know Each Other? in Cluso, pass the phone around, and find out who really knows who.
