Bomb Party: Say a Word, Pass the Bomb, Pray It Doesn't Blow

Some party games are slow-burning debates. Bomb Party is the opposite: a category, a phone that has turned into a bomb, and a fuse nobody can see. Name something, pass it on, and whatever you do, don't be the one holding it when it goes off.

How to Play Bomb Party

Sit in a circle with 3 to 12 players. The phone shows a category — read it out loud so everyone hears it, then light the fuse. The player holding the phone names something that fits the category and hands it to the next person, who does the same. Repeat, faster and faster. When the bomb explodes, the game asks who was holding it and gives them an explosion. After the last round, whoever blew up the most loses. Bomb Party is free in Cluso.

The Fuse Nobody Can Read

The trick that makes Bomb Party tense is that the fuse length is random every round and never shown. The cord on screen burns at an uneven speed, so how much is left never tells you how long is left. You can set the fuse to Short, Normal or Long in setup, and choose 5, 10 or 15 rounds — but even on Long, nobody at the table knows when it will blow.

Tips to Survive

Think ahead. While the phone is two seats away, pick your answer so you're ready the second it lands in your hands. Go for the obvious answers early, before someone else takes them — repeats don't count, and the good ones vanish fast. And pass cleanly: a fumbled handover has cost more players the round than a blank mind ever has.

House Rules and Twists

Hate the category? You can swap it for a new one before you light the fuse — after that, you're stuck with it. For extra chaos, try a reverse rule where the player who blows up picks which direction the phone travels next round. For a harder game, ban any answer shorter than three syllables. And agree up front who judges disputed answers, because the argument always happens mid-fuse.

Why It Works at Parties

Bomb Party needs zero explanation: one sentence and everyone's playing. It's short enough to squeeze between longer games, tense enough to wake up a sleepy room, and the explosion itself is guaranteed laughter — especially when it goes off in the hands of the person who was taking their time. Nobody is ever out for long, so it never stops being fun.

Bomb Party is pure adrenaline in one phone: a category, a hidden clock and a room full of people panicking out loud. Open it in Cluso, read the first category, and light the fuse.
